If you are taking on new staff then you are probably searching for a new personality questionnaire.
There are several things you should look for when searching for a personality profiling supplier. Is it a Jung Personality Test ? There are different systems to be had. Some are based on the work of C Jung. It is recommended line managers select a Jungian system.
The personality questionnaire should be fast. Long winded personality questionnaires are boring to people. Be sure the questionnaire only takes between seven and 10 minutes to complete.
Don’t think that long questionnaires return better results. Short questionnaires often return better results. Of course the questionnaire has to be designed properly in the first place.
Overly simple A/B questionnaires are a bit simple. Also check that the statements are not blatant. If the questions resemble something you should never agree with, or something all people would agree to, then this is not a well designed questionnaire.
Will it work with mobiles With so many people using mobile phones, it is important that the internet based personality test you choose is mobile friendly. Very few personality profilers are smartphone friendly. www.peoplemaps.co.uk is one of them.
If using the system as part of your selection process then it is essential it is mobile friendly, as a lot of people use their smartphones when applying for jobs. If any element of your recruitment process is not smartphone friendly, then you may be barring a large percentage of the candidate base.
Most personality profiling systems were originally paper systems. Paper based questionnaires were not designed for the Internet. You should look for a system that was designed for the Internet from its inception.
Is it easy to use. All systems must be intuitive and easy to use. If you are required to go on a training course to use the profiler, then it you may need to keep looking.
Are the reports written in plain English? reports should be easy to read and comprehend. If they insist you to go on a training course , then it’s not a good system.
