Apple Watch To Arrive In April, Says CEO Tim Cook

Apple chief executive officer Tim Cook said that the Apple Watch is “right on schedule” during the quarterly earnings report on Tuesday. Specifically, Cook mentioned that the Apple Watch should start shipping in April. "My expectations are very high on . I'm using it every day and love it and can't live without it," said Cook during the call. Cook added that the number of developers writing apps for the Apple Watch has been impressive too.  When Apple Watch was announced in September, Apple said that it would be arriving in “early 2015.” Based on that quote, there was speculation that Apple meant March 2015. Reports suggest that there was a slight delay due to low components and supply-chain bottlenecks. KGI Research analyst Ming-Chi Kuo forecasted that Apple will ship 2.8 million units in the first calendar quarter of 2015. Most of the details about the Apple Watch are already known, except for the battery life and cost. The Apple Watch battery life is rumored to have 19 hours of “mixed use” or 2.5 hours of active use. The cost is $349 for the lower-end version of the Apple Watch, but the prices of the higher end versions are unknown. Apple reported a 30% jump in Q1 revenues to $74.6 billion with a net income increase of 38% to $18 billion, primarily due to high demand of the larger-sized iPhones. Sales of the iPad declined since consumers seemed to prefer larger-sized smartphones rather than tablets. Sales of the iPhone rose 46% to 74.5 million units — which beat analyst expectations of 64.9 million, according to Bloomberg.
